Releases and Updates

Stay updated with the Cybrary release notes to stay informed about our latest update and features.

Dashboard
Updated Design

Cybrary learners now have a cleaner, more user-friendly dashboard upon entering the app.

The updated Dashboard is designed to quickly connect learners to their current path and goals, keeping them focused on what they’re currently learning and excited about what’s to come.

Badge Progress

Badges track significant milestones, and learners can now easily see their progress toward earning new badges.

What’s great about our new easy-to-read display is that learners will discover they are close to earning badges they weren’t even aware of!

New location and use for the Skills Tracker

As our content has evolved, the Skills Tracker has changed with it and has been removed from the Dashboard.

Previously, the Skills Tracker allowed learners to quickly access a role-based assessment and visualize their results. Learners will still be able to see their assessment results represented as a spider graph in their Assessment Results Report. But the Skills Tracker will now be used to visualize progress for all content in Cybrary’s new Career Paths and Skill Paths.

Measure
New Baselining tools for identifying and remediating skill gaps

Cybrary’s Baselining feature has been reworked as an action-oriented workflow.

This means that Team Administrators can now use Baselining to proactively assign role-based assessments to their team members. Based on assessment results, each member will automatically receive a custom learning path to improve their performance. After completing their learning recommendations, each member will retake the assessments to demonstrate how their knowledge and skills have grown. Throughout the process, Team Administrators will be able to monitor their progress and results at both the goal and team level.

This pre-assessment, remediation, and post-assessment structure gives administrators deep insight into how effective Cybrary’s training truly is.

Teams Dashboard
Training Progress Widget

Training Progress is now taxonomy-aligned to provide deeper insights into how learners are progressing on the platform.

Team Administrators can quickly visualize where learners are accruing learning hours and XP on the platform. This multi-bar chart breaks down learner engagement by Cybrary Domain or NICE Category, with additional options for drilling down into Cybrary Topics and NICE Work Roles, where available.

All of this data is organized into easy-to-read visuals that give administrators a detailed and dynamic understanding of their team’s progress and allow them to identify gaps across their organization.

Cyber Risk Impact Widget

Quantify your team’s training investment as a reduction in organizational cyber risk.

To utilize the Cyber Risk Impact Widget, administrators meet with a Cybrary CSM to discuss their organization’s business value, percent value at risk, and the likelihood of a breach. From there, administrators can see how training hours (or lack thereof) directly correlate to reducing risk and saving money.

How does this work? Once you input the numbers, the corresponding graph shows how your team members’ activity in the platform affects your overall cybersecurity risk. It also clearly articulates the value of training to your financial exposure. The Cyber Risk Impact Widget proves just how effective and necessary cybersecurity training is.

Career Paths
Next-Gen Career Paths

Cybrary’s Career Paths have been rebuilt from the ground up.

Cybrary’s original Career Paths were thoughtfully curated collections of role-aligned content pulled from Cybrary’s deep catalog of video courses and licensed virtual labs. Our next-gen Career Paths have been purpose-built to prepare learners for key job roles in the cybersecurity workforce.

At launch, next-gen Career Paths are available for IT & Cybersecurity Foundations, SOC Analyst, and Penetration Tester. Next-gen Career Paths for Security Engineer, Leadership and Management, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance will follow later this year.

Cybrary’s legacy Career Paths will remain available as Collections that can be accessed from Cybrary’s Explore view.

Learning By Doing

Next-Gen Career Paths prioritize hands-on experiences.

The majority of the content in the next-gen Career Paths leverages Cybrary’s in-house lab platform. This provides learners access to the live operating systems and real security tools that they will encounter on the job.

Learn, Practice, Prove

Next-Gen Career Paths follow an intentional learning design to help learners master the material. Each Career Path is composed of three distinct sections:

  • In the Learn path, learners will study core concepts and get hands-on with key skills in a series of courses and labs.
  • In the Practice path, learners will exercise their problem-solving and creative thinking skills with security-centric puzzles.
  • Finally, in the Prove path, learners will demonstrate their mastery of each topic by completing a series of assessments.
Credly-Backed Recognition

Cybrary has partnered with Credly to help our learners share their achievements.

Upon completing each next-gen Career Path or Skill Path, learners will receive a capstone badge via Credly. This capstone badge is in addition to Cybrary’s own internal badges, awarded when learners complete other content milestones.

Stay Focused

In the interest of keeping learners on track, they will only be able to enroll in one path at a time. This includes Career Paths, Skill Paths, and Cert Prep Paths.

However, learners are free to explore other paths as much as they like and change their active path enrollment at any time.

Skill Paths
Focused, Topic-Specific Learning Pathways

In addition to our comprehensive new Career Paths, learners can also choose to focus their attention on a single topic within a Career Path. For example, rather than completing the entire SOC Analyst Career Path, learners can choose to follow a Skill Path dedicated solely to Log Analysis.

Most Skill Paths are topic-specific subsets of longer Career Paths, but we will also be adding standalone Skill Paths on advanced topics. For example, the SOC Analyst Career Path will soon be supplemented by optional Digital Forensics and Incident Response Skill Paths. Additional Skill Paths on Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Vulnerability Analysis, and Malware Analysis are also planned.

Cert Prep
Consistent Path-Based Learning

Certification Prep Paths will follow the same learning design as Career Paths and Skill Paths but with different activity types. They will include domain-aligned video courses in the Learn section, virtual labs from Cybrary and Skillable in the Practice section, and Practice Tests from CyberVista in the Prove section.

Certification Prep Paths will not include a capstone badge from Credly, as learners will need to take the actual certification exam.
