Shaila Rana

I am the Founder and Security Educator at CyberSecure. Cybersecure provides tailored and customized security training and awareness programs to small and medium sized businesses. It has been a dream of mine to be in an environment where I am always learning. Thus, I was able to combine my love for learning with educating cybersecurity principles to help people to protect themselves against threats we face daily.

I am currently pursuing a PhD in InformationTechnology, specializing in Information Systems Security. I hold an MS in CIS with a concentration in Cybersecurity from Boston University. I have a background of both education and industry experience. I previously worked as a Security Architect, Security Engineer, Software QA Engineer and IT Administrator.

Oftentimes, knowledge is withheld and restricted. Cybrary disrupts traditional learning methods by providing access to useful knowledge from subject matter experts, allowing those with a passion to further their knowledge and careers. It is important for me to be able to contribute to that and share the knowledge I have acquired throughout my education and industry experience. Being a part of such an organization, alongside many accomplished experts is one of the greatest honors of my life.

I live in the Bay Area with my husband, son and two small dogs. My hobbies include traveling, watching space documentaries, going for long aimless walks with my dogs, knitting, and cooking. Cybersecurity is both my passion and hobby.
