Hello, Relatively new to Cybrary and I'm trying to gain some CEUs to renew my Security+ certification. What are some of the most relevant courses that you would recommend to start out with that would help meaningfully improve my cybersecurity knowledge and skills while also earning some CEUs? Thanks!

Hi, This is CompTIA's listing of approved courses for earning CEUs for the Security+ cert. Hope this helps. https://certification.comptia.org/docs/default-source/downloadablefiles/cybraryv1.pdf?sfvrsn=2

Awesome, thanks!

I just completed and submitted the Cryptography course on Cybrary for CEUs for my Security+ renewal. You are only allowed to earn 40 out of the 50 CEUs by taking 3 credit hour or more courses (each is worth 10 CEUs). Im currently in the middle of the Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking course. Its sooooo informative and extremely comprehensive.

Nice! I'll have to check that one out.

A little bit of misinformation in this thread. COMPTIA specifies that you can claim 1 CEU per Hour of course duration. So I wouldn't expect to use the stated CEU's that Cybrary lists. Use the course duration to avoid a painful audit later on. Courses under 1 hour cannot be used for CEU's. You can complete all 50 CEU's using the Complete a training course method during your 3 year cycle. You just can't submit the same course more than once in a 3 year cycle. See https://certification.comptia.org/docs/default-source/downloadablefiles/comptia-continuing-education-activity-chart.pdf?sfvrsn=2 The courses you choose must have at least 50 percent of content focusing on objectives for security plus. Likewise Comptia has published a list of pre-approved Cybrary courses that do count. Otherwise you have to submit the certificate of completion and the course outline ( if its not on the list ). See the list here: https://certification.comptia.org/docs/default-source/downloadablefiles/cybraryv1.pdf?sfvrsn=2

thanks for the information, i am going through the same to get security+ recertification

Thank you for the list. Very helpful.

Yes, @treborprime, Thank you for clarifying. As CompTIA is needing to push for their certs to continue to mean something they are auditing more and more often. It is rare that out of a group of ten industry professionals at a conference, at least one would have experienced an audit five years ago. Today it is rare if most have NOT had at least one while certified. I have always thought it best to spread out the form of training (webinar, conferences, Cybrary, etc.) and just so that you don't get Rusty I tend to take the three years and spread training out over that period unless I know I'll be studying for another cert. Hope this helps folks fulfill CompTIA requirements in a responsible manner. Best, Matthew
